Proof of Vaccination Requirement has Been Lifted

The provincial proof of vaccination requirement has been lifted

There is no Provincial Health Officer order requiring events, services or businesses to check proof of vaccination.

Individual businesses and event organizers may continue to require proof of vaccination for entry to their premises. It’s important that we respect the choices of people, businesses and one another.

Upcoming Changes to Restrictions, March 10, 2022 Update

Starting March 11, 2022 at 12:01 am, because of B.C.'s lowered hospitalization and transmission rates, these activities can return to normal:

  • Masks no longer required in public indoor settings under a public health order

  • Individual businesses and event organizers can choose to continue requiring masks on their premises

 

On April 8, 2022 at 12:01 am, further restrictions will be lifted:

  • Proof of vaccination will no longer be required to access businesses, events and services

  • Individual businesses and event organizers can choose to continue requiring proof of vaccination for entry

  • Businesses will no longer need a COVID-19 safety plan. They must follow communicable disease guidance from WorkSafeBC

Easing Restrictions as of February 17, 2022

Several restrictions will be lifted starting February 17. BC Vaccine Card, mask requirements and COVID-19 Safety Plans will all remain in place.

 

 Restrictions That have been Eased  
Starting February 16 at 11:59 pm, many restrictions will be eased. With proof of vaccination and masks, these activities can return to normal.
   •    No restrictions on indoor and outdoor personal gatherings
   •    Full capacity allowed for:
   ◦    Exercise and fitness, adult sports activities, tournaments and swimming pools
   •    Dancing is allowed when wearing a mask indoors

Restrictions and safety measures that remain in place will be reviewed in March and April 2022.    

  •   Masks required in all indoor public settings    

  •   Showing proof of vaccination to access many businesses, events and services    

  •   Businesses must have a COVID-19 safety plan

Studio Re-Opening as of January 20, 2022

The Government of BC has released a new PHO order for BC for exercise and fitness:

 

Starting January 20, adult indoor individual and group fitness or exercise activities are allowed with increased safety protocols and capacity limits, including:

  • 7 square metres of space between workout machines or people in a group class

  • Masks worn at all times, except when actively exercising. We strongly encourage people wear a mask even when exercising

  • Pre-bookings for drop-in individual fitness where operationally possible

Mandated Studio Closure from Dec. 22, 2021 until Jan. 18, 2022

The Government of BC has just released NEW COVID-19 province wide restrictions that mandate all adult gyms, fitness centres and dance studios must close. Alive Mindbody will be closed from Wed Dec 22- Tues Jan 18 inclusive to comply with these restrictions. Read more about the BC PHO information.

Proof of Vaccination

The Provincial Health Officer has mandated that as of September 13 businesses offering indoor group exercise are required to check a person's proof of vaccination for access to their venue or space. 

Here are more details from the Government of BC:

  • This applies to all people born in 2009 or earlier (12+). 

  • Starting September 13, businesses must verify that people have at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. By October 24, businesses must verify that people are fully vaccinated. 

  • Failure to follow the PHO order may result in a fine. Owners, operators and event organizers could be subject to a $2300 violation ticket. 

  • The requirement is in place until January 31, 2022 and could be extended. 

  • After verifying proof of vaccination, businesses must also review ID.

  • People from other Canadian provinces or territories must show a Provincially/territorially officially recognized vaccine record and valid government photo ID.

Updated Check-in Procedures 
as of Sept 13, 2021

 

  1. Download your vaccination card in preparation for class on Sept 13 or later.
     

  2. Continue to wear your mask when entering and exiting the studio!
     

  3. If new or it's your first time showing us proof of vaccination please arrive 15 mins prior to class. You'll need your Vaccination card and ID. Front desk staff will record proof of vaccination on your first visit, and you will no longer have to show your vaccination card for future visits.
     

  4. ALL guests must sign in at the desk on arrival using their scan tag (we will be issuing one if you don't currently have one & if you forgot simply let us know at the desk). All guests will wait in queue. It is important we check you in for class and ensure your account is accurate, and up to date EVERYTIME. No skipping the line!

    You can still use the check-in feature on the app (especially if running late to hold your spot) however upon arrival you will still queue up for the front desk.

     

  5. Personal items must be placed in storage cubbies BEFORE entering the workout studio. We ask that cellphones and personal belongings do not enter the workout studio.

Participant and Studio Agreement

This participant and studio agreement is currently in effect, to be abided by until further communication by Alive Mindbody, of whom reserves the right to adjust the terms of this agreement at anytime based on current COVID-19 protocols and guidelines set forth by the Government of BC and the Public Health Officer.

 

  • I agree that I cannot attend in-person classes if I have experienced unusual health symptoms OR COVID symptoms in the last 48 hours. This can include, but not limited to; fever, cough, sore throat, dizziness, skin rash/irritation, nausea, diarrhea, headache, unusual tiredness, sensory variances like taste and smell, sore muscles and difficulty breathing.
     

  • I agree that I cannot attend in-person classes if I have been in direct contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, unless I have undergone a COVID-19 test myself and received negative test results AND currently have NO COVID symptoms or sickness whatsoever AND have been approved by medical professionals to not quarantine. 
     

  • I agree to wear my mask into the Alive Mindbody building & studio. Your mask can be removed while you are in your workout area and/or on your mat during the class. Your mask will again be worn while cleaning and exiting the class and studio.
     

  • I agree to arrive no earlier than 10 minutes before my class start time. At the point of check-in I may periodically be asked to confirm the terms of this agreement in regards to COVID-19 protocols currently in place.
     

  • I understand that classes may be cancelled for COVID related issues. To prevent unnecessary pressure on strained staff, the necessity to cancel a class may occur. If a last minute cancellation does occur Alive will do it's best to communicate this cancellation asap.
